Terms of Service – Clarity Counselling & Careers

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of counselling and career support services provided by Clarity Counselling & Careers (“we”, “us”, “our”). By booking an appointment, accessing our website, or participating in services, you agree to these Terms.
Please read them carefully.
1. Services Provided
We offer:
Online (telehealth) counselling
Phone counselling
Career counselling and guidance
Support for parents and young people
Student-rate counselling sessions
Services are available to individuals aged 14+ unless otherwise agreed in writing with a parent/guardian.
2. Confidentiality
All sessions are confidential and follow Australian professional and ethical guidelines.
However, confidentiality may be broken if:
There is a risk of harm to yourself or others
There is a legal obligation to disclose information
There are concerns about child safety or mandatory reporting requirements
No session information is shared with third parties without your consent, except when legally required.
3. Telehealth Sessions
By booking an online or phone session, you agree that:
You are responsible for ensuring you have a private, safe space during the session
Internet or phone disruptions may occasionally occur
You will not record sessions without written permission
We do not accept responsibility for outages, interruptions, or device issues on your end.
4. Payments & Fees
Fees are displayed on our website and booking portal and may change with notice.
Student Rate
To access student pricing, you may be asked to confirm:
TAFE, university, or training enrolment
Apprenticeship/traineeship status
No age limit applies.
Payment Terms
Payments are processed securely through Stripe or another approved method.
Payment is required at or before the time of service.
We do not store card details.
5. Cancellations & No-Shows
To respect time and availability:
More than 24 hours’ notice: No charge
Less than 24 hours’ notice: 50% fee may apply
No-shows: Full session fee may apply
If you cannot attend due to emergency or crisis, please contact us as soon as possible.

6. Refunds
Refunds are only provided if:
A payment was made in error, or
We cancel or reschedule a session and you cannot attend the new time
Refunds are not provided after a session has been delivered.
7. Client Responsibilities
By engaging in services, you agree to:
Provide accurate information
Participate respectfully
Attend sessions on time
Seek immediate help (000 or local services) in crisis situations, as telehealth counselling is not an emergency service
We reserve the right to discontinue services if behaviour is unsafe or inappropriate.
8. Website & Online Content
All content on our website is for general information only and should not replace personalised mental health or medical advice.
You agree not to:
Copy or distribute our materials
Misuse the website
Attempt to access restricted areas or interfere with services
9. Privacy
Your privacy is important.
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
By using our site or services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as outlined in that policy.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
We are not liable for decisions you make based on counselling sessions or website information
We are not liable for telehealth interruptions, technological issues, or third-party service failures
You accept responsibility for your own wellbeing and actions
Nothing in these Terms restricts your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms occasionally.
The “Last Updated” date will reflect any changes.
Continued use of the website or services indicates acceptance of updated Terms.
